Three properties make Claude unusually valuable for B2B:

  • Long context window. Claude can ingest a full 200K-token page (~150,000 words) in one pass. ChatGPT and Gemini truncate around 32K to 128K. For long-form B2B content (case studies, technical docs, research reports), this means Claude reads the whole page and cites the most quotable section, while other engines cite the first or the last only.
  • Neutrality bias. Claude penalizes promotional language. Pages that read like marketing copy get scored lower. Audit your top 10 pages for “industry-leading”, “cutting-edge”, “best-in-class”, “unlock”, “leverage” (as a verb), “transform”. Replace with concrete claims: “cited by 200+ companies”, “runs on 4M API calls per day”, “built for teams of 50+”. Claude scores promotional language down by 20 to 30%.

Bury specifics throughout the page, not just at the top

Because Claude reads the full page, the “put your best stuff in the first 30%” rule (which holds for ChatGPT and Perplexity) does not apply. Spread named brands, exact numbers, dates, sources across all H2 sections. A 50-word passage in section 7 with a named stat will get cited.

Use comparison tables for any list of 3+ items

Claude extracts HTML tables verbatim, just like the other engines, but it also reads them in context. A comparison table near the top of a section earns higher scoring than the same table at the bottom. Citation lift: +30 to +60% on comparison queries.
